9-5 job vs online business has many differences that I expect to help you understand on this page. With a job we all know is having a paycheck every pay period for sure, if you work the hours. While an online business (self-employed) is having multiple streams of income. There are some people that just love a job; just so they get out of the house. They just don’t find themselves being at home all day. While others love to be at home all day and working away.
Is A Business Better Than A Job?
Well that would depend on who you ask the question to. However, I read somewhere that by having a home business, people are happier because they can manage what they do and when they do it. Versus some people who work for a living at a JOB, who are stressed most of the time. Always complaining about the traffic, the gossip at work, about wanting more time off and not getting paid their worth. Those are the most common complaints that I have heard people say throughout my career.
Owning a Business or Working a Job
Again depending who you ask. You will get a variety of answers. If you own an online business, you make all the decisions and you also get all the profits once you start receiving them. You can build multiple streams of income, so you do not lose everything if one stream goes wrong. Like a famous saying that I remember is “don’t put all your eggs in one basket” that is so true. You are the one who handles it all. Obviously, you get to meet many people who will be your loyal friends, such as other business owners, customers and vendors.
With a 9-5 job you will always be under a boss, who will tell you what you need to do. Not saying that you can’t voice your opinion but don’t think the company will change it’s ways just because you want it. You will only get paid for the hours you work and nothing else. If you take a day off you will not get paid, unless you have sick days and/or vacation time available. If you need some time off, you will need to ask even if an emergency comes up. You will always work for someone.
Cost of Having a Job vs an Online Business
Now that I have explained a little about both, it is time to compare the COSTS of each. I have attached the Google spreadsheet here, as seen on the video. Request access then file and make a copy, so you can edit it. Take a look for yourself and see the true costs of each 9-5 job vs online business. Just change your hourly rate on the spreadsheet to populate your true pay.
