Easy Baking Recipes

Here you will find easy baking recipes with few ingredients for your enjoyment. These three recipes are my all time favorites. I love them because I always have the ingredients available to make them. Baking I love to do, I just need more time lately. As soon as I finish baking these, my family runs to have a piece. Therefore, completely gone in less than a day.

My first recipe is my famous Banana Bread. Obviously, because it really comes out moist. But you need to follow the instructions as I have them here.

  • 3-4 ripe bananas smashed – actually if they are brown the better
  • 1/3 c. melted butter
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • one egg beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 c. all purpose flour

Just in case you don’t know some of the abbreviations I have used, I will explain. c. = cup tsp = teaspoon and pinch = just what your three fingers can get and T = tablespoon. Before you start mixing the ingredients, heat the oven at 350 degrees.

Put each ingredient in the order I have listed them. Firstly, do not use a blender. Use a wooden spoon if you have one. If not any mixing utensil will do. Start by smashing the bananas in a large bowl. Make sure you mix them well. Then add the melted butter and sugar. Next add the beaten egg, vanilla, baking soda and salt. Finally, add the flour, but a half cup at a time to make sure you mix it very well.

Once you have the mixture well blended, grease any 9 X 5 baking pan. Pour the mixture and bake for an hour or until the toothpick comes out dry. Let it cool and enjoy.

Lemon Nut Bread

Here is another easy baking recipe with few ingredients which is a favorite of mine. Let us start with the list of ingredients.

  • 6 T. butter softened
  • 1 1/3 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • Grated rind and juice of 1 lemon

Finally once you have all the ingredients, you can begin. Cream butter and 1 cup of sugar. Then add eggs, one at a time; beat well. Sift flour with salt and baking powder; add alternately with milk. Stir in nuts and lemon rind. Pour into 4 x 8 inch loaf pan lined with greased wax paper. If you don’t have the wax paper, that is fine just grease and flour the pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour, or until done. Cool 5 minutes. Combine remaining 1/3 cup sugar and lemon juice; pour over bread. Let stand 30 minutes. Remove from pan. And obviously Enjoy!

Ingredients for another easy baking recipes

Churro Recipe

1 c. water – 2 1/2 T. white sugar – 1/2 tsp salt – 2 T. vegetable oil – 1 c. all-purpose flour – 2 qt. oil for frying

1/2 c. white sugar, or to taste – 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Firstly, in a small saucepan over medium heat, combine water, sugar, salt and vegetable oil. Bring to a boil and remove from heat. Stir in flour until mixture forms a ball.

Secondly, heat oil for frying in a deep fryer or deep pot to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Pipe 5- to 6-inch strips of dough into the hot oil use a sturdy pastry bag fitted with a medium star tip. Do not put too many in the oil at a time. Fry until golden; drain on paper towels.

Finally, Combine 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Roll drained churros in cinnamon and sugar mixture. ENJOY!!!

Dry Ingredient Equivalents:

  1. 1 Tablespoon = 3 teaspoons.
  2. 1/8 cup = 2 Tablespoons.
  3. 1/4 cup = 4 Tablespoons.
  4. 1/3 cup = 5-1/3 Tablespoons.
  5. 1/2 cup = 8 Tablespoons.
  6. 2/3 cup = 10 and 2/3 Tablespoons.
  7. 3/4 cup = 12 Tablespoons.
  8. 1 cup = 16 Tablespoons.
